The Expedition

Phase 1: Acclimatisation

On arrival in Nepal, teams can spend a few days in either Kathmandu or Pokhara adjusting to Nepalese life and culture. There are plenty of interesting markets to explore and sights to see, including Swayambhunath Monkey Temple and the ancient Durbar Square.

Phase 2: Project

In this valuable and rewarding phase teams can volunteer and take part in a variety of environmental and community based projects. You will be spending time working with local schools or in the community, perhaps creating a play area, fixing buildings and classrooms. Most rural schools in Nepal are in need of basic writing materials and text books. All projects are chosen in consultation with the community to ensure their needs are met.

Phase 3: Trek

The Annapurna range has long been considered the best area for trekking in Nepal for scenery and cultural diversity, passing through picturesque villages and stunningly beautiful mountain views. For shorter options teams can choose from one of the many stunning treks available in the region, most of which are above 3,000m so are less likely to be affected by the monsoon rains, or trek in the Kathmandu Valley.

Phase 4: Culture and Review

A highlight of any visit to Nepal is spending time at Chitwan National Park. You’ll have an excellent chance of spotting one-horned rhinos, deer, monkeys and hundreds of species of birds or why not climb aboard an elephant. If you’re lucky you might get a glimpse of the majestic royal Bengal tiger! Back in the city, explore Kathmandu’s many Hindu and Buddhist temples and barter in the markets or visit the ancient, medieval Newari towns of Bhaktapur and Patan.

Expedition Grade

Our Nepalese adventure is graded as moderate to strenuous depending on the trek or project focus. Challenging days can be expected when trekking in the Himalayas. The fitter you are the more you will enjoy the expedition!
