The Expedition

Phase 1: Acclimatisation

Teams will fly into Johannesburg in South Africa, then head on towards Swaziland where you can spend a night acclimatising in the Vibrant capital Mbabane.

Phase 2: Trek

There are many stunning treks to choose from in Swaziland, including trekking in Malotja Nature Reserve, a mountainous reserve in the northwest of the country, giving teams a true wilderness experience as they trek along the park’s many trails through rugged and beautiful terrain. Alternatively, teams may like to trek in the Mlawula Nature Reserve, nestled onto the edge of the Lubombo Mountains in the north east of the country, this park offers teams more established trails with great chances to spot wildlife along the way.

Phase 3: Project

The project phase is an incredible opportunity to work alongside local people in Swaziland, including construction projects varying from repairing orphanages to conservation projects such as tree planting or fixing trails and fences.

Phase 4: Culture & Review

Spend time exploring the Swaziland cultural capital Lobamba, home to the monarch and many fascinating buildings. In Mozambique teams can explore the diverse marine life living off the coast with opportunities for snorkelling, whale watching or soaking up the sun on the white sand beaches. An expedition to southern Africa would not be complete without going on safari! Hlane Royal National Park is home to the largest herds of game in the country. A safari in this park would offer a great chance for teams to spot lions, elephants, hippos, white rhino, leopards and giraffes!
