Expedition

  • Experience a very different culture

Head out on a slum awareness walk with AFFCAD an organisation that was founded and is operated by men from the community who are committed to making life better for their neighbours. Learn all about the issues local people face on a daily basis.

  • Be part of a global community

Be part of a global community Teams in Uganda can work with Better Lives. One of our charity partners helps to assist communities in becoming sustainably self-reliant. You will help grow produce for school breakfasts, install sanitary toilets or work on projects designed to improve education and water supplies.

  • Appreciate something incredible

Journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will go on a safari to discover more of Uganda's beautiful wildlife. Famed for its bird species, the park has more species than the whole of the UK, it is also home to hippos, lions, elephants, giraffes and many more animals.

  • Explore a new landscape

You can choose to complete a challenging trek across the spectacular Rwenzori Mountains, home to incredible peaks and endemic plant species that have fascinated travellers for centuries, this is several days in length. Sipi Falls are a great alternative for those preferring day walks, there are several trails to choose from. It is also possible to choose to hike up Mount Elgon in the east of the country if teams wish.

What to expect

  • Terrain

Experience the beautiful landscapes of Uganda from gushing waterfalls and crater lakes to rainforests, snow-capped mountains, and vast African savannas. One of the tallest mountain ranges in Africa with peaks over 5000m and impenetrable forests gives you plenty of opportunity to spot wildlife and feel totally remote in the vast African wilderness.

  • Weather

Uganda has short wet seasons and is relatively dry the rest of the year. The altitude and terrain do have a big impact on the weather as the cloud forests will feel cool and damp all year round.

  • Culture

Uganda’s culture is rich and diverse with over 100 languages spoken. Cities such as Kampala offer a wide variety of activities. The streets are continually thronging with shoppers, hawkers, and the most mind-boggling packed bus and taxi parks you are ever likely to see. Outside of the cities ancient traditions and ways of life take over and you will be immersed in some fascinating tribal cultures.

We’re always happy to talk travel and would love to find out more about your ideas.

Please do call or email us for more information, to organise a first meeting, or even just for a chat. We’ll be delighted to hear from you.
