All of our expeditions are completely tailored to your needs – if you’re undecided about where to go, just call us, we love sharing ideas. The world really is your oyster!

Expedition

  • Experience a very different culture

Indonesia is a melting pot of religions and cultures including Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism and Confucianism. Despite this diversity Indonesian societies are open and tolerant, and visitors will note the inclusiveness and friendliness of the people. Celebrations and festivals are very important, along with traditional arts and a love of spicy, savoury food.

  • Explore the ocean

In the Komodo National Park, teams can learn to dive and gain their PADI Open Water certificate in a PADI 5* Dive Centre. Diving amid Indonesia’s stunning coral reefs provides the perfect opportunity to witness some of the incredible marine life that inhabits the waters.

  • Working with local communities

Participate in a community-based project and gain a real understanding of local culture. Help to develop the infrastructure of a rural village by repairing houses or building community forest shelters. Alternatively, get involved in a conservation initiative aimed at recycling plastic waste.

  • Encounter the wildlife

Indonesia is developing rapidly, and this has had a huge impact on the country’s natural resources. Learn about the threats to marine and land habitats resulting from overfishing, deforestation and pollution, and the conservation efforts that are being introduced to protect the environment.

What to expect

  • Terrain

Travelling across Indonesia is an opportunity to experience a wonderfully dramatic and diverse landscape, ranging from volcanic peaks, lush jungle, pristine beaches and rich coral reefs.

  • Culture

Comprising over 200 ethnic groups, the population of Indonesia is as diverse as its landscapes. Each island has a unique mixture of peoples, cultures and traditions and the range of experiences on offer are hard to beat.

  • Weather

Indonesia has a tropical climate with consistently high temperatures year-round, except at higher elevations. The main variable is in rainfall, with April to October being the dryer season in most areas.
