What to expect

  • Terrain

Located in southeast Europe, Croatia is geographically diverse. The crescent-shaped country features low mountains and highlands near the Adriatic coastline, flat plains that hug the Hungarian border, and a myriad of islands. The country's coastal areas have a Mediterranean climate with sunny, hot summers and mild winters.

  • Culture

The culture of Croatia has roots in a long history: the Croatian people have been inhabiting the area for fourteen centuries. Because of its geographic position, Croatia represents a blend of different cultural circles of the western culture and the east.

  • Weather

With a typical Mediterranean climate, the weather in Croatia includes warm and dry summers and cooler but still pleasant winters. The most popular time to visit is during the summer months from June to September.
